Employment History of Brian Afton

I have generally earned my living as a designer of heavy industrial machinery such as pumps, compressors, and welded/fabricated structures including some building/facilities design and reverse engineering/retrofitting of disabled chemical plant machinery.

However,  I have done many other things when that was not available, as was often the case in the rust belt town of Olean, NY.  This experience has left me well equipped for 3D design and drafting positions of most any kind, including very large assemblies, in addition to hands on shop work, welding, machine and heavy equipment operation.

I actually read specifications, try to do what is asked and know how to set up jobs and structure models on computer systems.

I can also do a certain amount of artwork, write English sentences, explain things, be understood and was an acting shift supervisor at Dresser-Rand.

If you have something no one else wants to do, or can't do, I would be a good person to talk to, I also prefer to work on the 2nd shift or telecommuting

I have worked on both coasts at such places as United Pump in San Jose, The Marine Division of Westinghouse in Sunnyvale, Calif,  American Thermodyne in Los Angeles,  Agway Nitrogen Complex in Olean, NY (9 yr) Olean Finishing Machine, Ambritt,  Dresser Rand in Olean, NY (12 Yr), Rolls Royce Energy Division in Ohio (4 yr on a 6 month contract, 2 years longer than company policy allowed.)

I have even worked on local farms in Olean and have also done contract work for a number of small shops in New York and Pennsylvania at various times, some of them while working full time at the Nitrogen Complex and taking computer classes at night.
